Making a browser extension with Deno

Hi yall, I really want to contribute to the desmodder, my favorite browser extension. Unfortunately for me, I know next to nothing about developing browser extensions.

I am currently trying to learn about them by making my own chrome extension with Deno, and the tutorial told me to include this file.

chrome.runtime.onInstalled.addListener(() => {
  chrome.action.setBadgeText({
    text: "OFF",
  });
});

chrome.runtime.onInstalled.addListener(() => {
  chrome.action.setBadgeText({
    text: "OFF",
  });
});

However, Deno tells me that it cannot find the name chromechrome and gives an error. How do I fix this?
