Next.js tutorial seems to skip part of the setup

The tutorial here: https://docs.deno.com/examples/next_tutorial/ tells you straight away after setting up the nextjs project that you will need to "update your
deno.jsondeno.json", but creating the nextjs project doesn't create a deno.jsondeno.json. Is it just implying that I should create one in the project directory, or am I missing a more fundamental set of implications here about what to do with a new project? I haven't really done much javascript development before. Any advice would be appreciated
